Cottage Groups

During the past few years, as Calvary has had times of challenge, celebration and growth, we have heard comments such as, “With more than one worship service, I don’t know as many members anymore,” or “You know, they live only five houses away from me, and I didn’t even know they went to Calvary.” Calvary is becoming a big church, but we want to retain the closeness of a small congregation.

Cottage groups are comprised of Calvary members who live in the same neighborhood. These groups provide a way to get small groups of Calvary members together to get to know each other, support each other in their faith journey and generally promote a sense of fellowship–that small church feel in your own neighborhood.

You have noticed a flower icon on your name tag; this denotes which Cottage group you are a part of. There are 20 groups at this time, and have one to two individuals or couples who have volunteered to be hosts for their group. You will get a phone call and/or letter from your group's host to let you know when your cottage group will meet. We are encouraging cottage groups to meet approximately four times per year.

Fellowship and discussion about God’s Word is expected to take place at these gatherings. You are encouraged to get together, get to know each other and support each other on our life and faith journeys.
