FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN
The Calvary Church Council and the Stewardship Committee have designated this year’s Thanksgiving Offering to support a community-wide project for Feed My Starving Children, which will take place March 13-15, 2009. Karlie Miller, our own Miss Perham, and Pastor Holtan initiated this project which has now been adopted by all the Perham pastors and churches with lots of partners in service clubs, schools, industries and individuals in Perham and the surrounding area. We had planned on a November offering for the ELCA Hunger Appeal but decided to move that to Lent in order to support this project.

LIBRARY NEWS
The Library Committee wishes to heartily thank all those who participated in our Kids Can Read Program. We collected almost 500 books. Thank you! We have distributed the books to several local programs such as Head Start. Some of the books in new condition will be used by these programs as Christmas gifts for needy families.
Have you read a good book lately you’d like to recommend? Please share it with other Calvary readers. The Library Committee is inviting you to write a brief review of the book so we can include it in the green binder in the library marked Book Reviews. Pink book review forms are available in the library to help you write your review but feel free to write in your own style. Check out the reviews other famous Calvary readers have written! Be sure to include your name and author of the book you are reviewing. We are very interested to learn what “Calvary Is Reading.”
MEMORIES FOR THE JUBILEE
The planning for Calvary’s Jubilee (50th anniversary) Celebration is well underway and points us to a year-long celebration September 2009 until July 2010. Lisa Peterson is our Jubilee chairperson. As one part of the Jubilee, we have asked Ron Anderson to write a history of Calvary’s 50 years of ministry to be available in September 2009. We invite you to write down your own stories and bring them and other items to the church office. We can’t promise that each will be included in the book, but Ron will carefully read each one and we expect to share them all on the Calvary website.
