The Parish Health Center is a resource room for all Calvary members to seek health related information. It is located in the Mary Magdalene room off the north end of the fellowship hall. There are many brochures displayed and available for you to take. Many provide information on disease prevention, others give information on support groups and services available in the area. “Pill-minder” containers are near the brochures for you to take. Blood pressure and diabetes screening is offered in the Parish Health Center every third weekend and other times by request. A Parish Nurse integrates faith and health practices by communicating and collaborating with other ministries in the church to meet the faith and health needs of the congregation, discussing health concerns with parishioners where they are living, recovering or in other settings.A Parish Nurse is also a referral agent, networking within the church and community to assist parishioners to gain access to appropriate resources and services and provides health education by supplying health information through a variety of resources.

+Prayer Shawl Ministry: Knitted or crocheted in prayer, gifted to those experiencing pain of illness, grief or loss.
+Healthy Snacks: Low carb and low fat snacks available during Sunday coffee fellowship.
+Home and Phone Visits: Offered to those recently hospitalized or with continuing health concerns.
The Health Committee advises and supports this ministry. Its purpose is to promote the general health and wellness of the congregation and community by providing screenings and prevention programs. Calvary’s Health Committee is currently comprised of active and retired health professionals. Nurses include: Vi Bergman, Michelle Kuebler, Mary Ringsven, Judy Peterson, and Vonnie Salness. Other members are Dr. Mark Paulson, and dietitian Julie Skow. The committee meets periodically; check the calendar for the next scheduled meeting or contact one of the members. Interested persons are encouraged to join. You do not need to be a health professional.
