Greetings: My name is Reg Hansen and I joined the Calvary staff in September 2008. I grew up in Wisconsin and earned a BS degree in education from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls in 1955. While teaching and coaching for 5 years, I became employed by Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin. With the help of LSS and the National Lutheran Council, I earned a Masters degree in Social work from Washington University in St. Louis.
I worked in various counseling and administrative positions for LSS in Wisconsin until 1973 when I was appointed President of LSS of South Dakota and remained in that position until retirement in 1994.
While in South Dakota, I had the opportunity to conduct strategic planning and organizational management seminars for many social ministry organizations affiliated with the ELCA.
LaVerne and I met at the U of W- River Falls and in August of 2008, celebrated out 54th wedding anniversary. We have 3 grown children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grand child. We retired to our home on Loon Lake in 1994, and for the last 12 years I have worked part time at Perham Lakeside Golf Course. We enjoy traveling, yard work and golf. LaVerne is an avid quilter.
As the coordinator of Stephen Ministries and Caring Ministries, my responsibilities are to enable all caring ministries of Calvary to improve their understanding of each other and to communicate effectively with one another.
I am fortunate to have the opportunity to join the staff and experience the extensive Caring Ministry programs of Calvary.
