Rob McNair joined our staff as Youth & Family Coordinator in September 2008. He earned a Masters degree in counseling psychology and spent three years as a school counselor in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Rob came to us from First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake where for 15 months he served as secretary and bookkeeper, and as he puts it, "You can see I like to break gender stereotypes." He and wife Hayley have two daughters, Olivia and Oakley. "Being with my family is my primary interest; if I have an hour of free time, you'd probably find me reading or writing."
Rob was born in the Chicago suburbs, the youngest of four kids with a tough life at home. "I am hard headed so it has taken a lot for God to get through to me, but I have a good story to tell for those willing to listen." When asked, "What do you see as your mission at Calvary?" Rob replies, "I believe God wants to use me to reach out to the community of Perham. I see Perham as my mission field and I will hopefully help the youth understand that the two greatest words Jesus spoke were, 'follow me.' Such a simple command that is so very hard to accomplish."
