Calvary offers many opportunities for adult faith enrichment. Please check the calendar to confirm dates and times, as schedules are subject to change. From Bible study basics to topic-oriented studies on contemporary issues, there's something for everyone!
In our Women’s Bible Study Circles this month we continue our discussion of “Slow Faith” with the lesson titled “Make Haste, O Lord.” We focus on psalms that ask God, “how long?” And we will learn that following these laments the psalmist adds an affirmation such as “Yet, O God, I will trust in you.” Maybe you are asking God “how long” right now. Visiting a Circle and reading the October issue of Gather magazine could lead you to affirm anew your trust in God, his wisdom and direction. You might also have an experience to share of God’s answer to you when you asked Him “how long?” Come to a Circle meeting and let God speak to you through fellowship with a group of caring

Sunday Adult Study Each month our Adult Education classes will focus on a particular “so that” of faith. Adult Education opportunities in the coming year will be focusing on living our baptism. You could also say that living our baptism is the “so that” of faith. Each month will have a different focus, with many opportunities to practice our faith. Classes begin September 20 between services on Sunday mornings. Schedule:
September 20: What does it mean that I’m baptized?!
September 27-October 18: Baptized We Live
November 8-29: Living as God’s Steward
December 6-20: Living In God's Abundant Grace: Sabbath
See the September newsletter for more details.
Sunday Mornings: Open Space. Open Space is a space for adults to gather, during the education hour (9:40-10:30) in the Mary Room, particularly for adults who have children in Sunday School. Open Space is a break from over-programmed and an opportunity to take a breather. Open Space is a space to bring faith questions and doubts, to have conversation with others, and to simply be. So much of our time is over-programmed and over-scheduled, with set agendas and timelines, and Open Space is created to be the opposite. We’ll check-in with one another and together come up with a plan for our time. There’s a bulletin board with possible topics we can talk about – and people are invited to contribute their own queries. Open Space is created collaboratively; we can’t wait to share this space with you.
